19 August 2008 - 16:04What would the world be like with out 800 numbers???

Have you ever wondered what the world might be like without 800 numbers? I have. Imagine having to pay long distance when you called a company to pay your bill—you would have to pay to pay! Wouldn’t that cause people to really freak out, I think so! A world without 866 numbers would be a world where customer service representatives quite their jobs daily in order to find something less trying and stressful. Many people would be so peeved that they could not call a business to tender payment without paying first just to call them!

So yes, 800 numbers definitely have made it easier of businesses to allow their customers to get a hold of them. Personally, I use 800 numbers all the time to check balances on credit cards. Can you imagine getting charged long distance rates just to call your credit card provider and make a payment over the phone? Exactly! 866 numbers are just part of our society, a society that will happily pay 39-cents for a stamp to mail in a bill, but will moan to the umpteenth degree about a long distance charge.

And why shouldn’t we? If they want our business, they had better allow us to call them tollfree!

The end result was that getting a tollfree number become far easier to do, less costly and in many cases the tollfree setup took under an hour. Thanks to the advances in the technology that allow for communications companies to route phone calls and provide services, national tollfree numbers have never been as affordable as they are now. 11 August 2008 - 15:56Why more Businesses are Going the “Tollfree” Route

In the day and age where credit matters, homes are losing value, oil is going up in prices and inflation is near the numbers that it was during its worst heyday in the 70s, more businesses are choosing to offer tollfree numbers than ever before. One might first think that this is a costly affair that will just increase their operating costs annually and decrease incoming net revenue, especially at a time where the economy is very tender and shifty. However, there is a different plan of action behind the slurries of businesses that seemingly are grabbing up national tollfree numbers faster than usual.

What is the deal with the surge in 800 number acquisitions?

The main premise behind offering an 800 number to your customers is to allow them with a means at contacting your business at no expense to them, with the exception of their time spent. As we see the economy shift downwards, a trend many experts say will continue until the housing market levels out and the banks acquire more capitol, many businesses are struggling to retain customers and to get repeat business.

Tollfree numbers increase phone calls which increase business

By offering their customers a tollfree number to reach them, businesses will greatly increase the amounts of phone calls that they receive on a daily basis. Customers are already hurting for cash. By offering their existing and prospective customers with a way of contacting them free of charge, businesses will increase their profit because they can garner more incoming phone calls that can translate to products or services sold. And, with tollfree rates lower than they have ever been before, the time has never been better for a business to offer a tollfree number than it is today!

Of the great many reasons why vanity tollfree numbers increase your business the most notable is that it makes remembering your phone number far easy for customers. This in turn generates repeat phone calls, which can lead to repeat business and even an increase in customers referring your business to another person.

Think about it. Every time that you see an accident attorney’s phone number listed it is almost always a tollfree number, and generally they have a vanity tollfree number like: ‘The-Lawyer.’ When clients get into an accident their brain recalls all the lawyer commercials they have ever seen and the simplest to recall number generally pops into their head.

The same notion is true for other industries like a pet care business that could have an easy to recall tollfree number like: ‘Petgroom.’ The fact of the matter is that the easier you make it for your customers to reach you, the more they will reach you!

Using a vanity tollfree number offers your clients a free way to reach you when the need arises, and it also assures that they will think of your business first when considering who they should do business with.
